Born 21.5.61, attended Pennyland Primary School then Thurso High School.  Gained BSc(Hons) in 1982 from Glasgow Caledonian University (formerly Glasgow College of Technology).

Has had independently owned practice in Thurso since 1984, initially in Sir John's Square, then Traill Street, before moving to current location in Sir George's Street.

Regularly attends refresher courses and participates in the programme of Continuing Education and Training.  

Accredited and registered to participate in cataract care pathways in conjunction with North Highland CHP.

In addition, he is approved to conduct visual field testing for the DVLA including Estermann testing.

An avid reader and music lover, supports Thurso Swifts, Partick Thistle and Scotland!

Thinks the world would be a better place if everyone listened to John Prine and Townes van Zandt's music, but if anyone is too cynical for that then he recommends Loudon Wainwright III......!!
